Do you feel like you belong in Sussex?
Help us understand what it’s really like to live, work and be part of communities across Sussex.
About the Sussex Belonging Survey
The Sussex Belonging Survey explores how people experience belonging in everyday life — whether that’s feeling accepted, included, respected, safe, and able to be yourself.
It has been funded by Enjoolata Foundation.
It looks at life locally and across Sussex as a whole, including how connected people feel to their communities, whether they feel heard, and what they think about the future.
This is about real and gut feel experiences, rather than perfect answers.
This survey should take around 8-12 minutes.
*This survey is currently closed, as we analyse the first wave of responses. It will be reopened Autumn 2026*
SUSSEX BELONGING SURVEY
Why your voice is important
Belonging shapes everything: wellbeing, opportunity, community life, and how places grow – including the economy.
This survey is designed to build a shared picture of how people feel — and to spark better conversations about what needs to change.
What will happen with the results
All responses are anonymous and will be combined with others to build an overall picture of belonging across Sussex.
The findings will be used by:
- charities and community groups
- local councils and public services
- businesses and local employers
to design better services, spaces, opportunities and initiatives that reflect people’s real experiences.
The value of your time to complete the survey will create insight that informs and strengthens decision making for Sussex.
When to take part
📅 This survey is currently closed and will reopen in November 2026
It will run for a two-week period every six months.
It will help to build a regular picture of how belonging in Sussex is changing over time.
Because it is a longitudinal survey, the findings will emerge over time. These will be shared in reports, events and infographics that anyone can use.
